There are multiple Courtyard Marriotts in Austin, and there are actually a couple in the North side. The particular one we booked was off of Parmer and I-35.
Room was quite spacious. There's a separate seating area with a sofa bed which may come in handy if you have more than 2 people staying in the room.
There was a flat screen TV, but no microwave or refrigerator.
Bathroom was good sized with a single sink and a separate shower area. The bathroom itself was clean although the shower amenities and quality of the towels reminded me of why this was a Courtyard.
I could see a bit of wear and tear in the shower area where some parts of the flooring was a bit darker, but not a huge issue.
Thoughts: Overall we thought this particular Courtyard was pretty good, especially for the rate that we got. It's definitely the nicest Courtyard I have stayed in the US, so maybe they are trying to rebrand themselves and compete with the newer lines such as Aloft, Element, and Indigo. No major complaints except that I started to see some minor wear and tear in the room. For the rate, I think this was a pretty good choice for our weekend stay in Austin.
The building was 4 stories tall and looked quite new. Parking was free on the lot. The lobby area was decorated quite nicely with bright colors and plenty of seating area. There was also another seating area as well as a couple of computers to print boarding passes. Overall first impression was quite good, definitely one of the nicer Courtyards in US.
We also noticed in the lobby area that they have free shuttles to restaurants or offices close by the area, which we thought was nice although we didn't use it.
We were put in a room on the 2nd floor. The room was good sized, and again the decor was a bit nicer than the typical Courtyard. General consensus was that it felt pretty new, although some parts started to show some wear and tear (minor things).
