Valentine's Weekend in Healdsburg: Lunch at Barndiva

As usual, I looked on Yelp to find a lunch place and came across Barndiva. The name was very intriguing, and the reviews and pictures looked great.  Making reservations via OpenTable was pretty easy, and when we got there, we were seated immediately around 11AM.

The building looked like an old barn that had been converted and modernized. There was a small seating area outside that would be great during the summer time.

The entrance was actually on the side and the decor fit the barn look--very rustic and charming!  The inside of the restaurant was actually much more modern and did not look like an old barn at all. :)  The restaurant had a similar feel to many of the restaurants in Napa/Sonoma--serving modern cuisine with wholesome, organic ingredients.

Since we were there early in the day and on the weekend, they served their brunch menu. The menu options looked really good, and most dishes were around $15-$20.

I wasn't particularly hungry, so I ordered the Cauliflower soup. The soup was actually quite amazing. The consistency was very creamy and was not grainy at all; I was expecting the soup to be somewhat more grainy but it was surprisingly creamy. There were bits of cauliflower, raisins, nuts, and a shot of port which added to the sweetness. Overall a solid dish and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again in the future.

Dan ordered the Eggs Benny--Barndiva's version of Eggs Benedict.  The Eggs Benny was served with a side of potatoes and beet salad.  This dish was also amazing!  We are both english muffins lovers and this was probably the best english muffin we have ever tasted. It was thicker than the typical english muffins we've had but was very light and had the perfect texture! The crispy pancetta was a unique twist on a classic eggs benedict. We also enjoyed the potatoes and side salad.

We were both impressed from this restaurant and would definitely come back.  The food and overall experience was on right on par with, if not slightly better than, many other restaurants in Napa/Sonoma we've been to.

Delicious Lunch!
